Una Voce - Central Oregon Officers
Jesse Daggett,
Chairman
Jesse holds a degree
in international business from Western Baptist College in Salem
Oregon. A recent convert to the Catholic Church, he has studied
theology and is currently obtaining a masters degree in Philosophy
from Holy Apostles College. He has served as an elected official for
the newly formed city of La Pine and is also a partner in two eye
care clinics in Central Oregon. Building upon this experience and a
desire for Catholic renewal, he sees the work of UVCO as a community
service in supporting and effecting the reintroduction of the
traditional Latin mass in Central Oregon.
Jeremy Daggett, Vice-Chairman
Jeremy graduated from Western Baptist College with a degree in piano
performance. He is currently pursuing a masters degree in Philosophy
from Holy Apostles College and Seminary. He co-owns the La Pine
School of Music where he teaches music, Latin, and literature.
Jeremy converted to Catholicism in 2006 after years of study and
debate, and consequently found the Protestant position no longer
tenable, and the truth of Catholicism no longer deniable.
He is
involved with Una Voce CO to promote a better understanding and
appreciation for our Catholic heritage among Catholics in Central
Oregon.
Peter Brownlee, Secretary
During his formative years, Peter served as organist at St.
Vincent's Catholic Church in Lucas Valley, California. This led to
his decision to major in organ and harpsichord performance at the
San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Studies continued in New York
where he also became assistant-editor of Music magazine, a monthly
journal for professional church musicians. This began his interest
in Roman Catholic liturgical music and the traditional Latin mass.
Steven Shope, Treasurer
Steven L. Shope is originally from Hershey, PA and graduated Utah
State University in Logan, UT. He spent nearly 4 years in Paraguay,
South America with Peace Corps. Returning to the USA, he worked as
a temporary seasonal wildlife biologist with the Forest Service. He
then moved to Bend, OR, where he has been working with at-risk
youth. Steve was received into the Catholic Church just before
Christmas in 1999. Steve participated on the RCIA team for several
years, and he is now a member of the Serra Club. Steve is a lector
and acolyte at St. Francis Catholic Church. You can find him most
easily at the 12:15p Mass most weekdays.
